Ethylenediamine is a strongly basic amine useful as a building block in chemical synthesis. It is used as a solvent to dissolve proteins such as albumins and casein. It is widely used for color photography developers, binders, adhesives, fabric softeners, curing agents for epoxys and dyes.

1,3-Diaminopropane is commonly used in the preparation of cholinesterase inhibitors and thrombosis inhibitors. It is also used as a polymer cross linkage agent, polyurethane extender and spray coatings. It is involved in the preparation of agrochemicals and pharmaceutical intermediates.

It is applied as a flavoring agent. Food companies use artificial MA in their candy and chewing gum to give them their grape flavor. Beverage companies have been adding it to the carbonated water and sugar in their soft drinks for the same reason.

1-Hexylamine is used as corrosion inhibitors, emulsifiers and surfactants. It is used in dyes, rubber and pharmaceutical industries. It is also used to study the modification of alkanethlol monolayers in gas-phase surface reactions.

1,6-Diaminohexane is mainly used as a monomer to make nylon 6-6. Its derivative hexamethylene diisocyanate (HDI) is used in the production of polyurethane. It acts as a cross-linking agent in epoxy resins. Other applications include coatings, lubricants and water treatment products.

Isopropylamine acts as a regulating agent for plastics and an additive in the petroleum industry. It is also useful as an intermediate for pharmaceuticals, coating materials, rubber chemicals and other organic products.

Dodecylamine was used in preparation of novel surfactant copper(II) complexes. It is used as a catalyst and template agent in the sol-gel process for the fabrication of monodispersed mesoporous bioactive glass sub-micron spheres.
