Beads and boiling aids are used for a variety of purposes, such as reducing bumping during boiling, refluxing or other distilling operations, packing distillation columns, or as mixing beads or boiling stones. When used with boiling liquids or a hot plate, these chemically resistant spherical beads stop boiling material from escaping from its vessel.
