Organosulfur compounds that are derived from carbothioic acid; carbothioic acid is a carboxylic acid with one of the oxygen atoms replaced by a sulfur atom. Two tautomers are possible: a thione form (RC(S)OH), and a thiol form (RC(O)SH).
