Bismuth (Bi)

Bismuth (Bi)

The most diamagnetic of all metals, bismuth ([Xe]4f145d106s26p3) (CAS 7440-69-9) is gray with a reddish tinge. With the exception of mercury, bismuth has a lower thermal conductivity than all other metals. While it is a poor conductor of electricity, bismuth has the highest Hall effect (greatest increase in electrical resistance when placed in a magnetic field) of any metal.
