Phthalic acid (C6H4(CO2H)2) is a dibasic, aromatic dicarboxylic acid and one of three isomers of benzenedicarboxylic acid. In its anhydrous form, phthalic acid is used to produce other chemicals such as dyes, perfumes, saccharin, and phthalates.
