Can I repair Multidrop Combi small tubing cassettes or replace the tubing in them, instead of purchasing a new cassette?
No, you cannot repair or replace the tubing in the Multidrop Combi small tubing cassettes. If you attempt to do so, the cassette may not function properly. The small tubing cassettes incorporate either plastic tips or metal tips. While metal tip cassettes will last longer than plastic tip cassettes, once the tubing in a cassette wears or reaches its end of life (EOL), the entire cassette will need to be replaced with a brand-new cassette.
Can the SMART cassettes with RFID tags be used with the standard Multidrop Combi without SMART option or vice versa?
Yes, the cassettes are interchangeable, however, the calibration data cannot be viewed and the information about the cassette is not updated. Also standard cassettes can be used with the Multidrop Combi with SMART option.
What should I do if the liquid foams during dispensing with the Multidrop Combi?
Some liquids foam more easily than others. One option is to reduce the pump rotor speed. There are three dispensing speeds available: High, Med (medium), and Low.
What materials come into contact with liquids to be dispensed by the Multidrop Combi?
The Small tube plastic tip dispensing cassette, Cat. No. 24073290, and the Standard tube dispensing cassette, Cat. No. 24072670, are made of: PEEK, silicone, and PP (polypropylene).
The Small tube metal tip dispensing cassette, Cat. No. 24073295, is made of: PEEK, silicone, ruby, and stainless steel.
Do particles in the reagent affect dispensing with the Multidrop Combi?
Possibly. It is recommended that you ensure that there are no particles greater than 50 μm in the reagent to avoid blockage of the tips, especially when working with small tube cassettes.
