Nitro Blue Tetrazolium chloride is used to confirm diagnosis of chronic granulomatous disease. It is a microscopic stain, which is used to detect dehydrogenases and alkaline phosphatase. It acts as an NADPH-diaphorase substrate that competitively inhibits nitric oxide synthase. Further, it is used in immunology for detection of alkaline phosphatase. In addition to this, it acts as an oxidant.

This Thermo Scientific Chemicals brand product was originally part of the Alfa Aesar product portfolio. Some documentation and label information may refer to the legacy brand. The original Alfa Aesar product / item code or SKU reference has not changed as a part of the brand transition to Thermo Scientific Chemicals.
